Hi, my name is Marc Latrémouille and I was born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario and now reside in Orleans. I have always
been drawn to the natural world and the treasures it has to offer. Whether it is listening to a loon calling on a
lake, watching a rainbow form after a late afternoon rain, or watching the constellations on a clear night. I find
myself in awe and at peace when surrounded by such beauty.
I enjoy all aspects of the great outdoors and find my curiosity
with the natural world has grown and developed over time. Just a few years ago, I spent most clear nights observing celestial
objects through my 10” Dobsonian telescope and most of my days observing birds and other wildlife. These days, my spare
time (i.e., when not at my full time job or with my wife and 2 daughters) is spent in the field with my camera and binoculars
in hand.
Photography is a recent addition to my hobby list. In 2003 I purchased a point-and-shoot digital camera and started
photographing birds through my spotting-scope, a technique known as as Digiscoping. My love for bird photography grew along
with my frustrations with Digiscoping. I sold my Digiscoping gear and purchased my first Digital SLR camera, a Canon Rebel
XT along with the very popular and versatile Canon 100-400 Zoom lens. I was now able to photograph birds in flight and moving
from branch to branch. The possibilities were endless. With time came the desire for greater focal
length so I purchased my dream lens, the Canon 500F4 IS and traded my Rebel XT for the Canon30D.
With today's booming
digital technology and the ever-expanding internet resources, my intimidation for high-end photography
was gone! Through the help of these resources, I have now taught myself specialized photography skills, long lens
techniques and post-processing workflows. It has allowed me to bring home images that I can then share with my family,
friends, and you.
My connection and commitment to the natural world only grows deeper by the day and I now
strive to share this passion with my wife, my children and to anyone else who appreciates the great outdoors.
Welcome
to my website. I hope you enjoy your visit!
This picture was taken by Daniel Cadieux, fellow photographer and birder, while out at Mud Lake in Ottawa. I was photographing a Great
Horned Owl that was "perched" on rocks.
