2025 Polar Bears and More Photography Workshops
Churchill, Manitoba is known as the Polar Bear Capital of Canada. Each fall, Polar Bears congregate on the shores of Hudson Bay waiting for the ice to form in order to go hunt seals. Churchill is where YOUR exciting Polar Bear Photography adventure will be. You will be photographing these massive, beautiful bears at EYE LEVEL. Not from a tall buggy pointing your lens down, but on the ground at EYE LEVEL. Join me on this thrilling, breathtaking Photography adventure with Polar Bears and more. Foxes (red/cross/silver and arctic), Wolverines, Ptarmigans, Wolves, Arctic Hare and Pine Martens, are also residents of Churchill. The chance to photograph these animals are a great addition to YOUR adventure.
We will be travelling from our new and very comfortable lodge, located stategicaly near the Polar Bears migration route 10 minutes from the town of Churchill. We travel in a large vehicle driven by an our local expert bear guide in search of Polar Bears on and near the shores of Hudson Bay. Our expert guide will bring us in position to photograph the Bears from a safe distance where we can step out of the vehicle and photograph the mighty Polar Bears in their natural habitat. Guests and Bear safety always comes first. Our daily itinerary will consists of a continental breakfast, morning photography session with the bears, lunch in town or at the lodge, then back out for an afternoon photography session.
Photography Workshop
This photography workshop is aimed at all levels of photographers. I will be your photographic guide throughout our adventure. I work closely with the bear guide to put us in the best possible position to compose striking images of these awe inspiring bears. I will share with you my knowledge of light, proper exposure, composition as well as lens choices. Every bear encounter will be different and adapting to the scene, as well as quality and direction of light will be taken into account when suggesting proper exposure and composition. I thrive on having my guests leaving these adventures with a diverse portfolio of high quality images. During down time, I will also be sharing my post processing techniques in Photoshop.
Dates
I will be offering 3 workshops (6 FULL DAYS (5 and two 1/2 days) of photography/6 Nights accommodations) during Prime Polar Bear season with a MAX of 6 guests plus myself. *It is recommended you acquire travel insurance*

Cost
The price for each workshop is $6900.00 USD. Deposit of $2000.00 required at registration and remaining balance due 90 days prior to workshop start date.

- 6 NIGHTS accommodations (double occupancy, add $950.00USD for single occupancy) breakfast included
- ALL transportation in Churchill (airport pick up/drop off to accommodations, transport to Polar Bears)

- Flights to and from Churchill, Manitoba, Canada. *Calm Air is the airline that flies to Churchill from Winnipeg, Manitoba. We have reserved seats for guests at a discounted rate*

Cancellation Policy
Due to the high level of financial commitment required to secure guides and accommodations in Churchill during prime Polar Bear season, no workshop refunds (including deposits) will be issued unless I can fill your spot. Travel insurance is recommended.
